About The Author
Marilyn Martyn
As a child Marilyn Martyn was a ablaze reader. The "Wind in the Willows" is still her favorite book. Reading it brings back happy memories of a childhood encircled by books.
She remembers her 1st day at school and the steps she took learning to read. There were easy moments and frustrating ones once
a word wouldn't decrypt easily.
In the 'good' old days children were instructed to see from a ranked series of books called 'readers'. By the end of second grade a student would-be be a fluent reader and understood how words are spelled. The readers were down step by step.
Marilyn has found these books she knowing to see with and is astonied at the depth of material they contain.
Marilyn trained as a teacher and bibliothec specializing in children's literature developed a career about her love of books and reading.
She besides spent several time as an education adviser for two publishers, visiting galore schools.
She has instructed children from homework grade to year nine in secondary schools.
She found opportunities to teach children who had difficulty learning to read. She instructed galore students in schools and still makes this as a private tutor.
After sitting with galore defeated students who did not cognize how to decrypt (sound out) words, Marilyn devised a series of lessons that gave them the ability to decrypt quickly. These lessons are the foundation of her book.
