You see, I value being active
in admiring my children and teaching my children the same values I grew up with.
But once
I take my kids to a film or watch TV with them, I am often defeated and defeated at what I see. I'm always asking myself, what positive message are my kids receiving? And sadly, I often don't have an answer. So that led me to create the Children of Character Storybook - a MEGA collection of unique, heartwarming hour stories.
Each story presents a specific character attribute
through an amusing story that leaves children with a solid understanding of the attribute
and how to apply it in their lives.
Galore parents like Sue have written in expression they appreciate exploitation hour stories as a tool to present positive values and character traits to their children. Studies have shown the more active
parents are in inculcation positive character traits and values in their children in their early years, the more likely they are to grow from children of character into adults that live a life of purpose.
Once
I was a child I knowing the importance of respecting authority, being compassionate, grateful and kind.
But now we are seeing more children end up like our "Hollywood youth". Need I say anymore?
It's our responsibility as parents to take control of our children's future. There's too more out there that erodes the values that wish help our children succeed in life, be happy and live a life of purpose.
I knew I had to do something. I couldn't simply sit back and let the schools, TV or movies teach my kids so-called values. So one night after the kids went to bed, I started writing them a story.
As I wrote simply about Chi-Chi the Chipmunk and how the Council of the Owls and their forest friends admired his Humility, I couldn't wait to see the story to my kids the next night - I was besides having a lot of fun writing the story too!
The next night I see the story to my kids and wow, they admired it! It ready-made me feel nice that I was doing thing
to instill positive values in them. They really talked simply about Chi-Chi the Squirrel
the next day! So I thought, we'll if they likeable
that story, I'll write them another and another and another.
It got to a point wherever
my kids were eager for the next story.
So I started thinking, well, if my kids love these stories and I can see the difference it is devising in our relationship and who they are as children, and if there are another parents out there like me that are defeated and defeated with what passes for children's amusement these days, possibly I should take several of my stories, put them in a collection and do them accessible as a tool to help another parents raise children of character.
